Grandma Ruth - Hey you did it. Good for you! I loved getting on here and seeing your comment come up. :)
I had to laugh about the, "Just wait until my daddy gets home." It still makes me smile hearing mom and you tell how she'd say that (to you and Uncle Mike) when she was a "little girl" and grandpa had to go away for business trips. She was his baby girl for sure... such a funny, cute, and sweet memory.
Love you and Grandpa Fred bunches. Don't get washed away in all this rain. :)
Hugs and prayers - Your Melody Kathlene

Dear "Meddie Kas-een" I thank you for providing me with something I didn't even know I needed. My heart feels soothed way down deep after reading your blog. Amanda shares her perspective on these same memories in stories at work. She has your daddy's gift for making a story interesting and fun. I have moments of contentment in the middle of my work day because of her. Now, I find these wonderful words that I'll be able to read over and over. I love the written word. It sinks down in me especially when the Lord is directing the writing. I miss sharing these memories with your daddy. Thank you for remembering and sharing.

My mom has been gone for a long time, but you are right sometimes seasons just bring out some memories and I really like to just stay there for a little while. You have many wonderful memories here and I loved going there with you. thank you so much.

Two great blogs, back to back; both bringing so much pleasure. Isn't it funny how certain things, certain times of year evoke these memories. I was JUST talking w/ mom about these memories, and bragging on it a bit with a co-worker last week. Sometimes, I think... "Man it sucks to be a grown-up!". I wish we could have a few days back there...swimming, playing, sunning, eating, resting, and show watching the afternoon away. We could cap it off with dinner as a family, the four of us. And so the line "Man it sucks to be a grown-up" comes to life. Thanks for this lovely walk down memory lane. We were truly blessed. NOW... I'm off to therapy to deal with why I'll never be as good as the mom I had and how not to drink my sorrows away. J/K LOL!!!
